YSG 618 / 52 MANUAL / HYDRAULIC SURFACE GRINDER TROUBLESHOOTING

Q1. Why does the grinder worktable longitudinal / cross or wheelhead up / down moving become laborious?
This is because the linear guide or ballscrew is shortage of lubrication, please adjust the lubricating volume as the following.

  1. Please check the oil level indicator, if the oil volume is low, refill the oil (Mobil#1405)

  2. Please clear up the lubrication tank and replace the new oil (Mobil#1405). If too much dust is deposited in the oil tank, the dust will easily move along with the lubricating oil on the LM guide & the ballscrew, finally, it will cause unsmooth movement.

  3. Please turn counterclockwise of oil distributor to increase the oil volume according to the instructions on the oil tank cover.

Q2. The wire rope of the worktable is broken, how to repalce it?
Please replace the new wire rope of worktable, kindly contact with Seedtec sales team to provide the instructional video or ask Seedtec service team  to do service. 

Q3. Why does the surface grinder vibrate excessively?

  1. The dynamic balance of the grinding wheel is not done well: Please do grinding wheel dynamic balancing calibration. (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide relevant documents)

  2. The surface grinder is out of balance: Please do the machine leveling adjustment. (The surface grinder will lost the balance when its position is moved)

Q4. Why does the workpiece appear chatter mark after grinding?

  1. The grinding wheel head vibrate excessively: it is necessary to do grinding wheel dynamic balancing calibration. (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide relevant documents)

  2. The diamond dresser passivated: please replace a new diamond dresser.

  3. The grinding wheel flange wore or damaged: Please replace the new wheel flange. The flange damaged will not fit closely with spindle and it will cause the vibration when grinding wheel rotates. 

Q5. The surface grinder is oil leaking, how to check it?

  1. The surface grinder is out of balance: please do the grinder leveling adjustment. (The surface grinder lost the balance when its position is moved)

  2. Lubricating oil pipe aging, cracking or falling off:  Please replace the new lubricating pipe.

  3. Excessive supply of lubricating oil: Please turn over the dust-proof pad of the oil tank behind the column.
    Locking No. 3 in clockwise of oil distributor then turn 1/2 counterclockwise. This is the most suitable oil supply volume. 

Q6. Why does the grinding wheel head drop down suddenly during processing?

The omen of grinding wheel head suddenly drops during the processing

  1. Sparks get bigger and bigger.

  2. The down feed value is unstable. (The different between Infeed value and displayer value of optical scale are too large)

  3. The workpiece is unevenly ground.

Please check the following.​

  a. Please check the oil level indicator, if the oil volume is low, refill the oil (Mobil#1405)

  b. Please clear up the lubrication tank and replace the new oil (Mobil#1405). If too much dust is deposited in the oil tank, the dust will easily move along with the lubricating oil on the LM guide and the ballscrew and cause unsmooth movement.

  c. Please check whether there is lubricating oil on the ballscrew of column and whether the rail is rusted.

Q7. Why does the lubrication tank overflow?

Firstly, please check the oil leaking is from hydraulic cylinder or the oil tank is mixed with the cutting fluid.

  1. Please check the bottom of oil tank is cutting fluid or oil

  2. if the bottom of oil tank is oil: then please replace the oil seal of hydraulic cylinder.
    If the bottom of oil tank is cutting fluid: please advice customer to pay attention to whether the cutting fluid spray direction will be sprayed into the oil tank and replace the new oil.

Q8. What is the cause of oil leakage at the front end of the surface grinder base?
It is caused by hydraulic speed control valve or oil pipe aging. Open the side cover of grinder based and check the oil leakage position, then replace the new oil seal of speed control valve or new oil pipe. 

Q9. Why does worktable move left and right with excessive vibration? 

  1. The surface grinder is out of balance: please do the grinder leveling readjustment. (Please adjust the leveling bolts)

  2. The hydraulic throttle valve is not adjusted properly: Please adjust the throttle valve to supply the proper volume of oil to the worktable. The throttle vavle is located below the solenoid valve of oil tank (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide adjustment video). 

Q10. Why does worktable movement become slowly?

  1. The oil shortage of hydraulic oil tank: Please check the oil level indicator, if the oil volume is low, refill the oil.

  2. Please check whether the worktable box ways are covered with lubricating oil. If shortage of oil, please adjsut the oil distributor output.
    Locking No. 3 in clockwise of oil distributor then turn 1/2 counterclockwise. This is the most suitable oil supply volume.

  3. The pressure value of oil pressure gauge has changed: Please adjust the oil press gauge value to 18 kg/cm^2

Q11. Why doesn't surface grinder power light on the control panel light up?

  1. The fuse inside of electrical cabinet was burned out:
    Please replace the 2A fuse for manual type machine.
    Please replace the 4A fuse for hydraulic type machine

  2. The lubricating pump burned out: Please repalce the new lubricating pump.

Q12. Why does the spindle motor can't rotate?

  1. The electromagnetic contactor was overload:  Please press the blue button at the lower left of the contactor to reset.

  2. The spindle motor was burned out: the spindle motor is still not working after reset the contractor, then the spindle motor may burn out, please replace the new spindle motor. 

Q13. Why does the dust seperator and coolant motor can't rotate?

  1. The electromagnetic contactor was overload:  Please press the blue button at the lower left of the contactor to reset.

  2. The dust separator & coolant motor was burned out: the  motor is still not working after reset the contractor, then the dust separator & coolant motor may burn out, please replace the new motor.

Q14. Why doesn't the power light of hydraulic oil tank on the control panel light up?

  1. Worktable speed control valve is not at the propery position, please place the speed control valve back to the "OFF" postion.

  2. The fuse was burned out: Please replace the new fuse.

 

YSG 12/16/ SERIES SURFACE GRINDER TROUBLESHOOTING

Q1. What is the cause of the abnormal sound of the spindle?

  1. Coupling star rubber is aging (the spindle starts with impact sound): Please replace the new coupling star rubber.

  2. The spindle bearing wore out or damamged: Please replace the new bearing.

Q2. Why does worktable move left and right with excessive vibration?

  1. The surface grinder is out of balance: please do the grinder leveling readjustment. (please adjust the leveling bolts)

  2. The hydraulic throttle valve is not adjusted properly: Please adjust the throttle valve to supply the proper amount of oil to the worktable. The throttle vavle is located below the solenoid valve of oil tank (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide adjustment video).

Q3. Why does worktable movement become slowly?

  1. The oil shortage of hydraulic oil tank: Please adjust the oil output of oil distributor. The oil distributor is located on the saddle just underneath the wheelhead.
    Locking in clockwise of oil distributor then turn 1/2 counterclockwise. This is the most suitable oil supply volume. (Please also check whether the worktable box ways are covered with lubricating oil

  2. The pressure value of oil pressure gauge is changed: Please adjust the oil press gauge value to 20 kg/cm^2

Q4. The surface grinder is oil leaking, how to check it?

  1. Firstly, please check the oil leak position of surface grinder and check whether the lubricating oil tank is overflowing.

  2. Please check whether the hydraulic cylinder is oil leaking, if yes, please replace the new oil seal.

Q5. Why is the workpiece unevenly ground, uneven sparks, and unstable infeed?

Column splash-proof bellow interference: The Column bellow of surface grinder needs to be regularly cleared of accumulated dust to avoid the excessive accumulation of dust that affects the normal infeed motion of grinding wheel head. Or the infeed extrusion due to the accumulated dust to causes the wheelhead tilted, thereby causing uneven grinding of the workpiece and sparts and unstable infeed.

Q6. Why does the surface grinder infeed is unstable?

  • AHD series: 

    A. The hydraulic throttle valve is not adjusted properly: Please adjust the hydraulic throttle valve properly which is under the solenoid valve of oil tank (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide adjustment video).

    B. Auto infeed ratchet wheel wore out or damanged: Please replace the new ratchet wheel.

  • TS series: 
    Column splash-proof bellow interference: The Column bellow of surface grinder needs to be regularly cleared of accumulated dust to avoid the excessive accumulation of dust that affects the normal infeed motion of grinding wheel head. Or the infeed extrusion due to the accumulated dust to causes the wheelhead tilted, thereby causing uneven grinding of the workpiece and sparts and unstable infeed.

Q7. Why does worktable of surface grinder make noise when moving?
The worktable makes noise when moving, that is because the nuts on both end of hydraulic cylinder mandrel are loosen. Please tighen properly the both end nus. The most suitable tightness is that the mandrel can be moved up and down manually.

Q8. Why does the workpiece appear chatter mark after grinding?
There are few factors to cause the workpiece appear chatter mark after grinding.

  1. The grinding wheel head vibrate excessively: it is necessary to do grinding wheel dynamic balancing calibration. (Please contact with Seedtec sales team to provide relevant documents)

Q9. Why doesn't the auto infeed/rapid infeed move?
The auto infeed/rapid infeed doesn't move it is because the transmission belt was borken, please replace the new transmission belt.

Q10. The surfae grinder base is oil leaking, how to check it?

  1. Please dismantle the side cover of surface grinder base and check whether the hydraulic speed control vavle has an oil leak. If yes, then replace the new oil seal of speed control valve.

  2. Please dismantle the side cover of surface grinder base and check whether the oil leak due to the oil pipe aging. If yes, please replace the new oil pipe.

Q11. The surfae grinder side cover is oil leaking, how to check it?

  1. Excessive supply of lubricating oil at worktable: Please adjust the oil distributor supply.
    Locking in clockwise of oil distributor then turn 1/2 counterclockwise. This is the most suitable oil supply volume. (The oil distributor is located on the saddle just underneath the wheelhead)

  2. Please check whether the hydraulic cylinder has oil leaking, if yes, please replace the oil seal.

Q12. Why does the movement of the worktable is faulty?

  1. The proximity switch that controls the limited movement of the left / right of the worktable is broken: Please replace the new proximity switch.

  2. The solenoid valve of hydraulic oil tank is broken: Please replace the new solenoid valve.

Q13. Why does the auto fuction of cross movment is faulty?

  1. The proximity switch that controls the limited movement of the rear / back of the worktable is broken: Please replace the new proximity switch.

  2. The solid state relay of electrical cabinet is broken: Please replace the new solid state relay.

Q14. What doesn't the power light of hydraulic oil tank on control panel light up?

Worktable speed control valve is not at the propery position, please place the speed control valve back to the "OFF" postion.

Q15. Why does the hydraulic system of worktable is unable to start moving?

  1. The handwheel of worktable has been locked: Please release the safety bolt located on the left side of the handwheel.

  2. The megnetic chuck is not working: please ensure the megnetic chuck switch turn to "ON" position.

  3. The electromagnetic contactor of electrical cabinet was overload: Please press the blue button at the lower left of the contactor to reset.

Q16. Why does the spindle motor is unable to start rotation?
The electromagnetic contactor of electrical cabinet was overload: Please press the blue button at the lower left of the contactor to reset.

Q17. Why does the worktable not move when presses the machine start button after the worktable stops.

For safety reason, once the worktable is stopped, it is necessary to push the worktable start button on the control panel so that the worktable can operate normally.
